Registered Clinical Officer

St. Paul’s Mission Hospital, a Level 4 Catholic faith-based referral hospital in Homa Bay, is seeking a Registered Clinical Officer to strengthen outpatient, inpatient, and emergency care. You will provide clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment across general and chronic disease services, and support the hospital’s push to reduce patient waiting times and improve continuity of care. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support and facilitate the HIV testing both at the OPD (including special Clinics) and IPD
  • Support and strengthen the monthly data reviews of the linkage at the Clinic
  • Run HIV related services – TB Clinics, PMTCT Clinics, STD Clinics, and any related services
  • Ensure various registers, patients' files, and documentation tools are correctly filled in and updated for improved quality of care
  • Strengthen and monitor the laboratory patient monitoring systems, e.g., Viral loads, Gene Expert.
  • Work closely with the community team to prioritize community home visits, treatment preparations, and locate the lost to follow-up
  • Establish and lead a multidisciplinary clinical team to review the treatment failures weekly

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution.
  • Additional training in NASCOP’s Test and Start guidelines, National Advanced HIV Clinical Course (NAHCC), or any recent training in HIV is required.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate Hospital Management Information Systems (HMIS) and digital reporting tools.
  • Valid, up-to-date practicing license from the Clinical Officers Council (COC).
  • At least 3 years experience in a busy hospital.
